Why clean the engine bay?
Dirt and grease hold heat and hide leaks. A clean bay makes oil or coolant leaks easy to spot early, and a buyer or mechanic opening the bonnet sees a car that has been looked after.

How we clean an engine bay
We start with the engine cool, then cover the battery, fuse box, alternator and air intake. A gentle degreaser goes on, and soft detailing brushes work it into the corners, hoses and plastic covers. Everything is rinsed with low-pressure water, dried with towels, and the plastics and rubber are dressed so they look new without being greasy.
When it's worth doing
Before selling, because a clean engine bay tells a buyer the car has been looked after. After outback trips or lots of dirt-road driving, when dust and red dirt build up under the bonnet. And whenever you want to keep an eye on leaks, since fresh oil or coolant is easy to spot on a clean engine. It can be added to any detail.

Will engine bay cleaning fix an oil leak?
No, but it makes leaks much easier to find. If we see fresh oil or coolant, we'll point it out so you can have it checked by a mechanic.
Can engine bay cleaning be added to a detail?
Yes. It takes about an hour and can be added to a mini, full or presale detail on the same visit.
